Nandi Hill

On a road to Nandi Hill Station

Nandi Hills is a group of hills about 65km north of Bangalore. There are two temples and an old fort on top of one of the hills. On a clear day (which was not the case the day I was there) the view from the top is breathtaking.

Room with a view

In Shilton Royale hotel, I first got a deluxe suite, room #210. The room was really nice except that it smelled of fresh paint and it had no view. The windows looked at the wall of the building next door. I asked to switch to a different room that has some view. So, now I am staying in another deluxe suite, room #111, that has a view of the backyard.

Adaa

Adaa [#6, Silver Springs Layout, Airport Varthur Main Road]. This is Punjabi food at its best. Their tandoori chicken is possibly one of the best I tasted.

Shilton Royale

I am staying at a boutique hotel Shilton Royale [#9, 100ft Inner Ring Road, Koramangala] located near Oasis Mall. www.shiltonhotels.com

The journey begins

I started my trip with an Air Canada flight AC212 to Calgary. From Calgary to Frankfurt onboard flight AC844 and from Frankfurt to Bangalore with Lufthansa flight LH754. Lufthansa's flight was more comfortable -- the food and service was much better than Air Canada's. The flights were good and on time but I got pretty tired -- 23 hours of flying and 27 hours from door to door is a really long time.
