Koshy's Bar & Restaurant
Koshy's [#39, St. Mark's Road, Richmond Town] has been run by the same family for three generations. It has two dining rooms (a bar and a restaurant) and it is the perfect place for Indian, Chinese, and Western cuisine. I enjoyed their North Indian style fish biryani.
Brigade Road
Bangalore's major shopping area is bounded by M.G. Rd, Brigade Rd, St. Mark's Rd, and Residency Rd.
Breathless in Bangalore
Bangalore, the Garden City, literally takes one's breath away -- not only because it is awe-inspiring, but also because it causes breathing problems. I read in the newspapers that at least 10% of Bangaloreans suffer from air pollution-related illnesses. The smog is so thick you can see it.

Barbeque Nation
Barbeque Nation [#4005, 100ft Road, HAL 2nd Stage, Indira Nagar] is probably my favorite restaurant in Bangalore. www.barbeque-nation.com

Bangalore or Bengaluru?
I read in The Times of India newspapers that former Chief Minister N Dharam Singh announced recently that the Karnataka state capital of Bangalore would soon be rechristened Bengaluru. It shall be reverted to Bengaluru just as Madras went back to Chennai, Bombay to Mumbai, and Calcutta to Kolkata.

Organized chaos
"While the rest of India drives on the left side of the road; Bangaloreans drive on what's left of the road." -- from www.discoverbangalore.com

Smiling happy people
I got a feeling that Indian people are happy people. They say happiness comes from within. They seemed relaxed and smiling much more than average Canadians. Even the poor people who have nothing seemed to be content and at peace with themselves. Today I saw two boys riding at the back of the truck, sitting on the bags of crop, who were smiling and laughing, the way only innocent kids do, and they were animating the people in cars behind them.
Legends of Sikandar
The Legends of Sikandar [Garuda Mall 4th Floor, Magrath Road] serves excellent North Indian buffet. They are best known for their biryani dishes.
Garbage everywhere
One reason why the city is full of garbage lying around everywhere is that there are no garbage cans. Not a single one! It's surprising that a city as big as Bangalore doesn't have garbage removal services. The only place where one can actually see a garbage can is inside the shopping malls.
